Netflix Worthy: A Band Called Death
A Band Called Death has all the elements needed to make a music nerd quiver. An über rare and mysterious 7″ serves as the keystone of the story, which unveils an underdog band from Detroit in 1973 – who instead of messing with Motown like most their peers, form the innovative protopunk band Death. Refusing to compromise their music or name, their chance at stardom passes by like a Chevy coming off the line, only to be revived decades later as a son hears his Dad singing on a mix-tape at a scenster party in Brooklyn. From there the mystery unravels to reveal heartbreak, unrealized potential, some killer music, and of course….a reunion. Making A Band Called Death, Netflix worthy.
