New Years Day is underrated. New Years Eve gets all the press and preparation but it’s the morning after that holds more magic for me. It’s a meditative day that allows you to think forward with crispness that only a winter hangover can provide.

So, in between copious amounts of Twilight Zone viewing, I found myself listening to Bill Nehill’s excellent cassette 2 Rose And Protection. If I were to corner Nehill’s music into a genre I’d decide on Bummer Folk, and the untitled tunes were a perfect fit for my New Year mood. Bill Nehill’s “Untitled #7” isn’t exactly new music, but if you’re unfamiliar with Western NY’s underground music scene, then it’s likely new to you.

You can purchase Nehill’s 2 Rose And Protection via Selection Records for a wallet friendly $5.00, but hurry, this release is “limited in intention and edition, 100 copies”.
