As Winter continues its inevitable creep, it’s good to find warmth in song, and Heyward Howkins music provides just that. The Philly natives folk inspired songs will strike a familiar chord with fans of Bon Iver or Nick Drake, as his music is breezy light with effortless appeal. Howkins unique vocal talent is the star, and coupled together with tasteful production, it’s sure to add an orange glow to your chilled Winter blue.

Below is a track from a Howkins project currently in the works entitled “Praline Country”, and with a description like the below, it’s hard not to like. You can purchase and listen to Howkins previous album, The Hale & Hearty, here:

“Praline Country” is a murder ballad inspired by the Stagger Lee folk story. Except this time the killer is a lady.
