Recommended Album: Orange Juice – Rip It Up
Orange Juice reached their apex with the release of Rip It Up in 1982 – fueled by the title track which cracked into the U.K. Top Ten. Combining elements of New Wave and Post-Punk Orange juice were one of the first groups to take advantage of this thing called a synthesizer (a Roland TB-303 to be exact) and the result was light danceable pop.
Domino Recording Co. has recently re-issued Rip It Up which is a worthy addition to any collection, and sounds pretty damn contemporary when compared to acts like Ducktails.
